A 34-year-old man was able to track his previously stolen e-scooter to an apartment in the Vienna-Landstraße district using a technical device on Thursday.

He followed the signal of his vehicle, equipped with a technical device, to the house in Vienna-Landstraße and was even able to locate the exact apartment, explained police spokesman Markus Dittrich upon APA inquiry. Through a hallway window, he saw his e-scooter and called the police at around 9:45 PM.

Officers from the Fiakerplatz police station requested the individuals present in the apartment to open the door. As they did not comply, the WEGA was called in. Before a forced entry into the apartment occurred, the door was eventually opened.

Three E-Scooters Found in Apartment in Vienna-Landstraße

In the apartment in Vienna-Landstraße, the task force encountered three Slovak nationals: a 50-year-old woman and two men aged 36 and 48. During the search, a total of three e-scooters, a high-quality racing bike, a silver ring with diamonds, and a small amount of narcotics were secured. The two men generally confessed, while the woman only admitted to possessing narcotics.

All three are Slovak citizens who were not registered at the apartment. The 50-year-old had the key as a cleaning lady and is believed to have unlawfully let the two men in during the resident's trip abroad. The Vienna public prosecutor's office ordered the detention of the 48-year-old man, who is known to the authorities, in a correctional facility. The other two were reported at large.
